Did you ever think to yourself: Joe Jonas bears an uncanny resemblance to Balthazar Getty?
No? Well, apparently, the producers over at Brothers & Sisters have, because, although there’s no official word yet from ABC, inside sources tell me Joe will be playing a younger version of Balthazar’s character, Tommy, in a two-episode flashback arc that focuses on the history of the Walker family.
So who else has been cast as the other Walkers? Well, you’ll never guess who Rachel Leigh Cook is in contention to play…

According to sources on the show, Cook has auditioned for the role, but no final decision has been made on young Nora’s casting. Also in the running for Nora are Courtney Ford (known as Trinity’s illegitimate daughter Christina from Dexter and Brandon Routh’s real-life wife) and attention Grey’s Anatomy fans, Nora Zehetner (who played Stinkerbell on season one of Heroes and who is now Alex’s love interest on Grey’s). What does this mean for Alex’s future love life at Seattle Grace? Hmmm…

Obesity breakthrough New year-long trial reveals unprecedented weight loss success for obese Brits
A new trial has found that very low calorie diets are far more effective at tackling obesity than conventional diets, potentially putting an end to losing battles among drastically overweight Britons.
More than one in five women in the UK are overweight (21%*), with a similar number of men (17%) who measure a body mass index (BMI) of over 30. In comparison, a healthy weight is a BMI of between 20 and 25 according to the British Nutrition Foundation.
In a 12 month study, adult men and women with a BMI at or above 35 were entered a clinical trial of different diet interventions with the aim of achieving a five per cent weight loss. An initial test of eating 600 less calories per day than the recommended daily allowance for men/women. Those who failed to achieve the 5% weight loss were then put on either the low carbohydrate, high protein diet (LCHP) and a very low calorie diet (VLCD). The latter eating plan drastically cuts the amount of calories consumed by relying on diet of milkshakes.
At the end of the year-long trial, the average weight loss for the VLCD was 31 kilograms, compared to just four kilograms for the low carb/high protein diet, one of the country’s current fashionable eating fads.
The very low calorie programme, known as LighterLife, was also twice as successful as those who stuck with eating just 600 less calories per day, which reduced obese Brits’ weight by an average of 18kg. It also resulted in increased cardiovascular benefits and improvements in cholesterol.
The study was led by Professor Iain Broom, the director of the Centre for Obesity Research and Epidemiology at Robert Gordon University and a professor of metabolic medicine at the University of Aberdeen.
Professor Broom said: “This shows how a very low calorie diet can provide excellent weight loss for obese people in both the short and long term, including those patients who have failed other dietary approaches.”
“The cholesterol benefits are also considerable, as are the lean body mass results which demonstrate that patients see the very same changes in their body composition as those on a conventional diet – there was no difference in the amount of lean body mass change, suggesting that cardiac muscle was not affected by VLCD therapy.”
The study supports what LighterLife seeks to achieve with every client who undertakes it, greater weight loss results and an immediate solution to the side effects obesity such as high cholesterol and restricted movement. It demonstrates that for people living with obesity a very low calorie diet can be the solution they’ve been looking for.

Studio Audience ‘Incredibly Supportive’ Of Charlie Sheen While Filming New ‘Two And A Half Men’ Episode
Charlie Sheen’s latest arrest has caused concern from his fans and speculation from less supportive folks. The producers of his TV show, Two and a Half Men, assured people that at least on the professional side, he’s doing well. He showed for work this week and filmed a new episode in front of a live audience last night.
“I can’t speak to his personal situation but I can tell you that he showed up on Monday and we had a great week,” Executive producer Chuck Lorre said at the CBS session of the Television Critics Association press tour on January 9. “Rehearsals went really well and last night we did a live show in front of a studio audience and it was a big success for us.”
The arrest may have cost sheen sponsorship deals and may endanger his new marriage, but according to Lorre, the audience still loved him. “They were incredibly supportive,” Lorre said of the studio audience.
Earlier, in a press conference, Lorre described Sheen’s return to work thusly. “We put on a show last night. It went extremely well. We had a great week. The audience was wonderful last night so we’re just going about our business.”

Veteran celebrity client Valerie Bertinelli, who lost 40 lbs with Jenny Craig and hit her goal two years ago, was present to welcome Sara into the Jenny Craig family alongside CEO Patti Larchet.
On finding an illegal handgun on his tour bus, Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to charges of attempted weapon possession. He faces a year in prison as opposed to a minimum 3 1/2 year sentence if he was found guilty of illegal gun possession charges, according to the AP:
In New York, he politely answered the judge’s standard questions with “yes, Sir” and “no, Sir” as he entered his plea to second-degree attempted weapon possession, a felony.
He acknowledged he had a .40 caliber semi-automatic loaded gun on bus.
When the judge warned that he would not be able to withdraw the plea as some people try to do, the rapper said, “I’m not one of those people.”
Prosecutors said small amounts of DNA found on the loaded weapon connected it to the platinum-selling artist. Defense lawyer Stacey Richman said the gun wasn’t Lil Wayne’s, and the testing technique was too problematic to prove otherwise.
After stealing Taylor Swift’s thunder at the MTV Video Music Awards, the rapper bailed on the Fourth Annual BET Hip-Hop Awards Saturday evening, giving up his nine chances to stage yet another remix-worthy acceptance-speech-crashing moment.
We seriously don’t need him to attend any more award shows.
