This summer 2 out of 3 British women will suffer from “Seasonal Wardrobe Syndrome”, according to the new research by Special K, with the average British woman setting a target of losing half a stone or more. The syndrome also manifests itself in a significant number of women being in denial when it comes to their actual size. The research shows that 54 per cent of women admit they will diet to get into their summer clothes from last year rather than move up a size.
A spokeswoman for Special K said: “The onset of finer weather is often the spark for a wave of summer dieting by British women, we found.
“Women do not want to buy a new summer wardrobe because it means they are admitting they cannot fit into last year’s so they either lose weight or feel the squeeze.
“And this year, unlike others, financial reasons are also a major factor behind Seasonal Wardrobe Syndrome. So it is even more important to be able to wear last year’s clothes.”

From the creator of “Arrested Development” and the producers of “Two and a Half Men,” comes the new Sony Pictures Television half-hour animated comedy series, “Sit Down, Shut Up” for FOX. The series premieres Sunday, April 19 at 8:30 PM (ET/PT) as part of FOX’s Animation Domination Sunday night lineup.
Based on the hit live-action Australian series, “Sit Down, Shut Up” revolves around the lives of high school faculty members in a small Florida fishing town who are so preoccupied with their own personal needs and agendas that the students ALWAYS come second. At Knob Haven High the teachers are essentially the students and their insecurities, prejudices, power struggles, unrequited loves and petty squabbles take center stage, leaving the students hungry for learning and any kind of attention or leadership.
There’s one educator who can actually teach and feels the focus should be on academics, yet despite his efforts and being the only teacher who truly gives a damn, has been relegated to gym. LARRY LITTLEJUNK (voiced by Jason Bateman) can be found jogging, eating sensibly or attempting to be the voice of reason when he’s not teaching P.E. or trying to impress science teacher, MIRACLE GROHE (voiced by Kristin Chenoweth). MIRACLE, whose career as a science teacher has had some help due to her good looks and flirtatious nature, can pretty much be found at all times with her concerned baby, MERCH, and promoting the spiritual life that rules her universe.
SUE SEZNO (voiced by Kenan Thompson), who has taken over as acting principal of Knob Haven due to a mysterious accident involving the last principal (can you say escape attempts?) can be found giving lots of “no’s” for answers in her stern, firm and no nonsense manner. Then there’s Vice Principal STUART PROSZACKIAN (voiced by Will Forte) whose terrifically upbeat and positive attitude explain why his prior job was a Prison Clown for Florida’s Department of Corrections.
Every educational institution must have a jock (or someone who thinks that he is one) and that’s English teacher ENNIS HOFFTARD (voiced by Will Arnett) whose love of the ladies is eclipsed only by his love of himself. ENNIS can often be found badgering the aging German teacher WILLARD DEUTSCHEBOG (voiced by Henry Winkler), a deeply defeated and poor man who loves to spend time shopping at the local 49-cent store and eating anything involving bologna.
Rounding out the staff is HELEN KLENCH (voiced by Cheri Oteri), the feisty and frustrated librarian who believes that the library is the core of the school and loves to tell people to “Quiet Down!” She is single, desperate and not picky, and can be found spending a lot of time gossiping with the bisexual drama teacher, ANDREW LEGUSTAMBOS (voiced by Nick Kroll). Finally there’s HAPPY- real name Muhannad Sabeeh Fa-ach Nuabar - (voiced by Tom Kenny), the plotting secretive custodian who many don’t know too much about.

The claws are out, and the catty comments and tearful hissy fits are back as Animal Planet kicks off the second season of its hot reality, competition series Groomer Has It, hosted by Emmy award-winner, Jai Rodriguez (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy).
Groomer Has It sniffs out 12 of America’s most passionate and skilled dog groomers to compete against each other in a test of desire, creativity and affinity for animals as they shave, shear and shampoo their way through a series of challenges that will crown only one “Groomer of the Year.”
Premiering April 11 at 9PM e/p, the contestants will be put to the test to see who can turn the dirtiest dog into a glamorous, pampered pup. These talented and quirky groomers live together in a swanky Los Angeles loft, aka “The Doghouse,” which can sometimes be too close for comfort. During each grooming challenge, the contestants work shoulder to shoulder and, sometimes as teams, tasked with everything from creating signature looks for a “bridal and groom party” in the show’s first-ever doggie wedding to using their canine-grooming skills on pot-belly pigs.

Sir Richard Branson has arrived in Los Angeles on the inaugural flight of Virgin’s newest airline V Australia.
As part of the inaugural celebrations Sir Richard hosted a star-studded launch party in Hollywood’s famed Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard. The occasion was attended by celebrities including Sex & the City’s Kristin Davis, actor Julian McMahon, singer Holly Valance and actress Marisa Tomei.
This follows the Sydney launch celebrations on Thursday night, where celebrities including singer Natalie Imbruglia were among the 800 guests at the harbourside party.

Sierra Leone and its West African neighbour Liberia are beautiful countries with rich cultural and academic traditions. But as they strive to emerge from the effects of civil war, their inhabitants are struggling against official corruption, poverty and disease. Public sanitation is a nightmare. Hospitals are ramshackle and woefully under equipped. Malaria claims lives at an obscene rate; Sierra Leone has the highest child mortality rate in the world, with one in every four children dying before they reach the age of 5.

Over the course of the last year, the price of staple foods has doubled in Sierra Leone. Parents are desperately worried that they will not be able to feed their offspring. To us, 14p is a pittance. To a desperately poor family in Sierra Leone it is anything but. Parents struggle to raise even that sum, which is just enough to buy a cup of rice.
In Kroo Bay, a poverty stricken suburb of Sierra Leone’s capital Freetown, hospitals are struggling to cope. Faulty electrical systems, leaks, general disrepair and a chronic lack of facilities mean that adequate treatment cannot be given to children suffering from widespread, easily preventable diseases. The children are also forced to live and wash in pestilent water that is strewn with garbage. Disease is rife, but because of extreme poverty people don’t have the money to afford the simple safeguards and treatments required to prevent it.
These children need our help. Since civil war ended in Sierra Leone in 2002, and in Liberia the following year, outside aid has made a real difference. But more is required if an end is finally to be put to the inhuman standard of living that so many of their inhabitants are forced to endure. Even a small donation can make a huge difference - and could even save a child’s life.
