Katie is currently shooting Mad Money in Louisana and Life & Style are reporting that Suri’s baby momma is ‘quietly reclaiming parts of her past’ - including her Catholic upbringing:

“The mag reports that Holmes is reconnecting with family and friends and even secretly talking to Catholic priests. Holmes was raised a Catholic, but since her marriage, has embraced Scientology, her husband’s religion.”

The actress hasn’t been to church lately, but is “secretly talking to pastors” for advice, and wants to enroll Suri in “kiddie Catholicism” classes, according to L&S.

Katie is reportedly reaching out to reconnect with those outside the strictly controlled ‘Cruise Camp’. 

The “Batman Returns” star recently called a childhood pal named Meghann Birie, whom she hadn’t seen since meeting Cruise two years ago, reports L&S.

“She wanted to talk to someone not in Camp Cruise,” a friend told the mag. “Katie told Meghann she can’t believe she abandoned her old life.”

Katie is also trying to mend fences with her own parents:

What’s more, Holmes also plans to visit her hometown of Toledo, Ohio, this summer and has invited her parents to the “Mad Money” set.

“She’s trying to make amends with her family,” according to a Holmes family friend.

Can Jesus save Katie from Tom Cruise?  I don’t know it’s a big ask but for Suri’s sake let’s hope so.

The big news for Suri Cruise is she turns the big 01 today

Reps for the couple were releasing no details of birthday preparations yesterday. However, sources tell us the birthday is likely to be celebrated in Shreveport, La., where Katie is filming “Mad Money” with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. It’s her first film since she began her relationship with Cruise. “She is already down there, and Tom and Suri will be flying in,” says our source.

In other news in the  Cruise-Holmes household, they’re looking to make themselves more normal and part of that is getting Katie a new rep:

In a change of PR reps, Holmes recently retained West Coast powerhouse Ina Treciokas as her spokeswoman.

“It’s part of a plan to normalize the PR, to get it back to what it was before Tom freaked out,” says another insider. “They realize the problems all began when Tom hired his Scientologist sister Lee Anne [DeVette] to run the show.”
