The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas had their official grand opening for The Pearl theatre last night featuring Gwen Stefani:

“We are honored to have Gwen Stefani open The Pearl and know that this evening combining the grand opening of The Pearl and Gwen’s performance will usher in a new era in concert entertainment in Las Vegas. We are anxious for the entertainment industry, our valued guests, and music lovers from all over the country and the world to see The Pearl. We took every step to make this venue one of the best and most intimate theaters ever built. We hope that everyone will see that dedication and that it will lead to more enjoyment at their favorite concerts and many one-of-a-kind moments on stage,” said Palms owner George Maloof.

The Palms wanted something special for the grand opening of its new $80 million concert theater and so the Palms’s team worked with several distributors to put together a world record attempt.  The palms was lit up by 160 skytracker lights.

Rod’s daughter Kimberly took Bob Geldof’s 15 year old daughter Pixie out for a night of clubbing in London last night.  Looks like little Pixie has trouble keeping up with Kimberly, 27:

In November Rod gave an interview with Rolling Stone magazine,

“She just discovered that she had a very serious liver illness from drinking too much. She said to me, ‘Dad, I’m half Scottish - I thought I was allowed to drink a lot.’ “I said, ‘No darling, it doesn’t work like that.’“

He also claimed Kimberly had seen a liver specialist  and had stopped drinking under doctor’s orders.  Later on in November Kimberly spoke out about her Daddy’s interview claiming he had just got the wrong end of the stick:

“I love my dad but sometimes he has a big mouth and not just when he’s singing.  I don’t have a liver disease. I was exhausted and feeling sick from burning the candle at both ends, and my doctor told me to cut back on drinking and smoking, which I have, and I feel so much better.”

Either way, Pixie doesn’t need to led down the merry road of Hollywood brats excesses.  Pixie’s mom, Paula Yates died of an overdoes in 2000 and dad Bob has said he is not a fan of some of the group that Pixie and older sister Peaches, 18 hang out with.
