The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas had their official grand opening for The Pearl theatre last night featuring Gwen Stefani:

“We are honored to have Gwen Stefani open The Pearl and know that this evening combining the grand opening of The Pearl and Gwen’s performance will usher in a new era in concert entertainment in Las Vegas. We are anxious for the entertainment industry, our valued guests, and music lovers from all over the country and the world to see The Pearl. We took every step to make this venue one of the best and most intimate theaters ever built. We hope that everyone will see that dedication and that it will lead to more enjoyment at their favorite concerts and many one-of-a-kind moments on stage,” said Palms owner George Maloof.

The Palms wanted something special for the grand opening of its new $80 million concert theater and so the Palms’s team worked with several distributors to put together a world record attempt.  The palms was lit up by 160 skytracker lights.

In this month’s Harper’s Bazaar, Gwen revealed that she is constantly on a diet to maintain her US Size 4/UK Size 6 figure:

“I hate talking about it, but it’s true. I’ve always been on a diet, ever since I was in the sixth grade.”

“It’s an ongoing battle and it’s a nightmare. But I like clothes too much, and I always wanted to wear the outfits I would make. And I’m very vain.”

“[But] if you had paparazzi outside your house, you’d make sure you looked good, too.”

She added that it’s not all low-fat this and low-carb that: she tries her best with “all the healthy stuff but I let myself cheat once or twice a day with a cookie or pizza.”

Any girl knows that if you let yourself ‘cheat’ twice a day with cookies or pizza you wouldn’t be on a diet and you wouldn’t be a size 4 so I’m calling bullshit on that one.

Singer Gwen Stefani, and her husband have announced the birth of their first child, a boy. The announcement was made through their publicist. The baby will be named Kingson James McGregor Rossdale, a mouthful to say, and he weighed 7.5 pounds!

Stefani, 36, who played Hollywood actress Jean Harlow in Martin Scorsese’s film epic The Aviator, announced her pregnancy last December during the final concert stop of her solo tour, saying, “This is the end of a huge chapter for me.”
