I used to think that Brad Pitt was a lot like a low-cal lemon chiffon pie - all fluff and very little substance.
Good looking? Sure. Capable actor? Definitely. Humanitarian? Um, not so much.
I’ve since changed my mind after learning he’s responsible for spearheading the Make It Right campaign in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward where he’s actively helping to rebuild homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina. He’s so committed to getting these homes rebuilt that he’s put up five million dollars of his own money for the reconstruction.
Five million dollars.
That’s a lot of Missouri beef stew shelled out by a guy the tabloids enjoy portraying as a rather shallow Hollywood hunk who traded in his four-year, ho-hum marriage to Jennifer Aniston for sexy, sultry movie siren Angelina Jolie when they made “Mr and Mrs Smith” together in 2005. He adopted her adopted children and she gave birth to their own biological love child in 2006.
Here’s a guy who is not only considered to be one of the hottest actors in Hollywood making a bundle with every movie he stars in, but he actually stepped up to the plate to do something that matters.
Who knows, maybe his efforts helping to rebuilt New Orleans will inspire other big names out there to pony up and do what they can to make this world a better place for everybody.

These vignettes will include behind the scenes stories from the film.
The screen’s biggest names embody an epic adventure in ancient Greece where the passion of two of literature’s most notorious lovers, Paris, Prince of Troy (ORLANDO BLOOM) and Helen (DIANE KRUGER), Queen of Sparta, ignites a war that will devastate a civilization. When Paris spirits Helen away from her husband, King Menelaus (BRENDAN GLEESON), it is an insult that cannot be suffered. Familial pride dictates that an affront to Menelaus is an affront to his brother Agamemnon (BRIAN COX), powerful King of the Mycenaeans, who soon unites all the massive tribes of Greece to steal Helen back from Troy in defense of his brother’s honor.
In truth, Agamemnon’s pursuit of honor is corrupted by his overwhelming greed – he needs to conquer Troy to seize control of the Aegean, thus ensuring the supremacy of his already vast empire. The walled city, under the leadership of King Priam (PETER O’TOOLE) and defended by mighty Prince Hector (ERIC BANA), is a citadel that no army has ever been able to breach. One man alone stands as the key to victory or defeat over Troy – Achilles (BRAD PITT), believed to be the greatest warrior alive.
Arrogant, rebellious and seemingly invincible, Achilles has allegiance to nothing and no one, save his own glory. It is his insatiable hunger for eternal renown that leads him to attack the gates of Troy under Agamemnon’s banner – but it will be love that ultimately decides his fate.
