Lisa Butcher’s Summer Fashion Fix
What Not To Wear fashion expert Lisa Butcher shows you how to
dress for your shape with this year’s summer trends.
As we prepare for the season of warm weather ahead, the need to update our summer wardrobe provides a great excuse for hitting the high street! Yet instead of filling us with glee, many of us may already be experiencing the onset of ‘Seasonal Wardrobe Syndrome’ – worrying about what we’ll look like in those skimpier summer clothes.
Over the last few months we’ve been hiding our arms and legs away behind thick jumpers and woolly tights – and for many the thought of wearing a strappy top or bikini is already a daunting prospect. There’s no need to panic though, if you are worried about exposing those winter muffin tops then there is still time to tone your tummy. By simply adopting a healthier lifestyle and eating sensibly, you can look great and enjoy this summertime with confidence.
This summer 2 out of 3 British women will suffer from “Seasonal Wardrobe Syndrome”, according to the new research by Special K, with the average British woman setting a target of losing half a stone or more. The syndrome also manifests itself in a significant number of women being in denial when it comes to their actual size. The research shows that 54 per cent of women admit they will diet to get into their summer clothes from last year rather than move up a size.
A spokeswoman for Special K said: “The onset of finer weather is often the spark for a wave of summer dieting by British women, we found.
“Women do not want to buy a new summer wardrobe because it means they are admitting they cannot fit into last year’s so they either lose weight or feel the squeeze.
“And this year, unlike others, financial reasons are also a major factor behind Seasonal Wardrobe Syndrome. So it is even more important to be able to wear last year’s clothes.”
So rather than have your confidence levels plummet when the temperature rises Lisa Butcher is on hand to guide you through the styles which will work best for your shape. The What Not To Wear fashion expert and model shows us a selection of fabulous clothes and flattering seasonal trends to allow you to dress with confidence at any stage of your transformation
