Ferrari and Women Photographic Exhibition

Only a woman’s fascination can compete with the passion that evokes a Ferrari car of every period and model. Therefore, the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello dedicates an exhibition space to this fascinating and mysterious relationship at the same time, between the world of Ferrari and the female universe.

“LA FERRARI E LE DONNE” (Ferrari and Women) is an impressive photographic exhibition of splendid protagonists of 60 years of Ferrari history, 60 years of exclusive street cars and passionate car races, but also of fascinating, powerful and independent women, who have bought or driven Ferraris, or who have accompanied the most famous Ferrari drivers during their adventures.

GALLERIA FERRARI DI MARANELLO

Visitors will find out about this special relationship between Ferrari and women, both regarding the past and the present, not only by female images, but also having a look at the most prestigious cars depicted in the photos: the 250 GT Spider of 1959, the 250 GT Berlinetta of 1962 and the 360 Spider of 2000. The women shown not only are the models and misses that during the first decades of Ferrari production have rendered even more beautiful the prime shows of the newcomers, but they’re also princesses, actresses, and wives of the drivers that for the first time have appreciated and witnessed the power and charm of those cars.

From the beginning of the Fifties, those privileged women could cherish the conquest of this prevailing men’s world: i.e. the Princess Liliana de Rethy, who in 1957 asked Enzo Ferrari to exclusively produce a special version of the 250 GT coupe, or Ingrid Bergman, who in 1954 ordered the Berlinetta 375 Mille Miglia presented in the Saloon of Paris as a unique version.

Special importance is being paid to the female actors: starting from Brigitte Bardot in a 250 GT spider in the film “The Contempt” of 1963, and Ann Stroyberg in a 250 California in a remake of the film “Les liaisons dangereuses” (1959), to Zsa Zsa Gabor, Shirley McLaine, Monica Vitti and Sharon Stone, mother of the beneficiary auction for the first unit of the 348 spider.

And last but not least, women of car races: Piero Taruffi’s wife, Isabella, who was welcoming the winning husband at the arrival of the last Mille Miglia in 1957, his daughter, Prisca, when driving the same winning car, the 315 S, the wife of John Surtees, Pat, during the GP of Monaco in 1966.

The Galleria Ferrari opens all days of the week, also during national holidays, from 09.30 AM to 18.00 PM. The exhibition is included in the entrance price.
