Actress Sherri Shepherd will be introduced next week as a new cast member on “The View,” giving the daytime chat show its first full cast since before Rosie O’Donnell’s stormy stint.

The show’s creator, Barbara Walters, said Wednesday that she would reveal the new cast member on Monday. That will be Shepherd, said a person close to the show who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Rumors were flying back in January that Shepherd was going to become a permanent fixture on the View but those rumors proved false at that time. Then last month it was reported that Barbara Walters had planned to announce that Sherri would be coming aboard along with Whoopi Goldberg but negotiations stalled when the ABC show refused to pay a speculated $2 million.

There’s no denying that the “Who’s Your Caddy” actress could bring some fresh life to the long running show, but seriously can someone just find the “cancel” button?
