Paul Potts talks to Hello!
In the UK at least, you know you have really made it as a Celeb when magazines like Hello wish to interview you
Paul Potts has come along way in the last few weeks – so how he got time for an Interview at Hello, I do not know – but it sure makes interesting reading:
For example – Somethings perhaps you did no know about Paul Potts
Paul Potts has revealed he was once so miserable he considered suicide.
The 36-year-old Britain’s Got Talent winner said bullies made school so bad he wanted to end it all. “There was a lot of name-calling and I was regularly beaten up. It turned me in to a loner. I never told my parents. Somehow I felt it was my fault. I bottled it all up.”
He told Hello! magazine
“There were some low times. I used to cry myself to sleep. In my darkest moments I thought about killing myself. I also thought about self-harming. I even considered throwing myself down some stairs.”
The former Carphone Warehouse salesman from Port Talbot in Wales now has a £1million recording contract but admitted he once spent his £10,000 life savings on attending two summer opera schools in Italy in the hope of securing a recording contract back in the UK.
In his first exclusive magazine interview he told Hello! he was wondering if pursuing his dream was worthwhile when he heard about Britain’s Got Talent.
“I filled in the entry form on my laptop, but then I had second thoughts about hitting the submit button. I waited an hour then I decided to flip a coin – head I entered, tails I didn’t. Thanks goodness it came down heads!”
Paul admits he lacks confidence and is not a natural performer but says it’s singing that changes him as a person.
“I have been told something changes in my eyes. My nerves seem to disappear. I sing as if I’m on auto-pilot. That’s when the real me comes out.”
It was shyness that lead Paul to seek friendship online and in an internet chatroom that he met 26-year-old Julie-Ann, his wife of four years.
“It wasn’t exactly speed dating” she said “it took him a month before he finally asked me out.”
Having just returning from a one-day flying visit to New York where he sang at the famous Rockefeller Plaza for NBC’s Today show Paul is in the studio recording tracks for his first album but still can’t believe what’s happened to him:
“I’m scared I’m going to wake up any moment and it’s all been a dream!”

Paul Potts and Simon Cowell: Singing hyped emotion? H-umm?
Paul Potts sang. I cried. With him, we reflect on our hopes. But, is he a charade, emoting as an Unknown Unconfident Underdog on U-tube?
Setup: “… the world of show biz seems a million miles away.”, “… mobile phone salesman ….” at 0.00, youtube.com/watch?v=1k08yxu57NA . He said that he lacked confidence. Simon Cowell said, at 3.51 , “… isn’t a professional, has talent, isn’t aware of it, has a normal job, and then you see something else.”
Paul: “… I’ve not taken up promotions before because people wanted me to change ….”, myspace.com/paul_potts , 6-18 clip, 1.30. He was wanted and held out! Confidence & known!
NBC Today Show: “… I know that you haven’t had formal training, so how did you learn to sing like this?”. He ignored their assumption: “Umm, I’ve just always sung, just always sung. My voice has always been my best friend.”, 6-21 clip, 2.53; site above.
Paul was elected a Lib. Dem. councillor in Bristol, March 96. Unconfident? bristolwest-libdems.org.uk/news/000338.html

SHH, you are a real pain in the ass
If you don’t know enough about a subject, keep your mouth shut instead of spreading rumours and gossip.
Do you know what a real vocal training is? The few lessons Paul had, or the few performances are hardly enough to have had any influence on his voice. A vocal training for an operatic singer takes 10 tot 15 years of weekly training

whoever wrote the comment about it takes 10 to 15 years to sing opera is not true. Some people naturally have an opera singing voice. Your just jealous and Paul Potts is wonderful.
