JOHN TRAVOLTA TALKS ABOUT TOM CRUISE’S TIRADE AGAINST DRUGS, SCIENTOLOGY AND HIS SEXUALITY
John Travolta tells W magazine what he thinks about Tom Cruise’s tirade against psychiatric medication: “I don’t disagree with anything Tom says. How would I have presented it? Maybe differently than how he did, but it doesn’t matter. I still think that if you analyze most of the school shootings, it is not gun control. It is [psychotropic] drugs at the bottom of it. I don’t want to create controversy; I just have an opinion on things, and there is nothing wrong with stating your opinion if you are asked. Everyone wants that right, and because you are famous doesn’t mean you have less of a right.”

ON DRAWING A LINE BETWEEN HIS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE LIFE…“I have never felt compelled to share with you my bathroom habits or share with you my bedroom habits. Everyone has a right to privacy, so I have never felt—even though I am famous—that I had to share that with anybody.”
ON HOW HIS ROLE AS TONY MANERO IN SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER HELPED DEFINE THE DISCO DECADE…“I think I was the shift, directly or indirectly, from the Sixties to the Seventies. Even though it was not until 1977 that Saturday Night Fever came out, there wasn’t an identity to the Seventies until the movie.”
ON WHETHER RUMORS ABOUT HIS SEXUALITY HAVE AFFECTED HIM AND HIS CAREER…“No and no. What affects your career is the quality of the product. I don’t think anyone can hurt me.”
ON FLYING HIMSELF DAILY TO CLASSES AT THE SCIENTOLOGY CENTER IN CLEARWATER WHEN IN FLORIDA…“I am on a program that I have designed to help me in whatever area I want to be helped in. Like tonight, I was here for three hours doing a certain thing, and I will do that tomorrow night as well. It gives me a nice reason to fly… [Scientology] has given me stability. It has given me the tools to handle life’s issues, stresses and problems.”

After ‘Pulp Fiction’ it is good to find you in good health and away from harmful habits and thoughts. It must be good to have direction in your life and grounding.
I was wrongly arrested, sent to mental health maximum security and had not committed any crime or done anything wrong. they pumped me with so much drugs, I could not even articulate a defense, or even articulate a conversation. They had me on the books, and after each rel;ease, rearrested me four times and took me back, a repeat of the same performance. 3 years later, they have identified a mistake ? I have stopped taking thier prescribed drugs, I now have real problems. the drugs affected my heart and fitness, I was 80 plus kilos and went to 115 after treatment and lock up. I think the drugs have permanently affected my mind, my life, the way I percieve things, my disability now to work, after a very successful attempt, prior to a breakdown. Now they have to deal with me, if they stop treating me, I think of revenge constantly.

I’m sorry to hear of the mistreatment, it must have been hell for you. No one knows, until they’ve been through something similar, how horrible the side effects are to overcome, if ever…especially if they were wrongfully accused and drugs wrongfully prescribed.
I was just looking in to the info. on Scientology and the “tools” they use to help someone regain their sense of self, mentally speaking, instead of using drugs. I have been at a dead end for awhile and want to regain some quality to life. I saw the video of Tom Cruise about Scientology and Psychiatry and thought I’d look into it. They showed a short clip of Rescue workers after 9/11 and how they helped overcome the trauma without drugs.
I don’t know anything about Scientology yet but if there’s a way to “pull up” without drugs, I’m looking into it. If they want money before divulging info, then I’ll search elsewhere…true help should be given freely. I’m sure I’ll be led to something with the right Google search. I hope you can, too.
Best of luck to you, I hope you find some solace knowing they’ll get theirs, even without you getting revenge. The truth will come out eventually. Don’t give up though, you’ve made a difference with your life. Just by sharing your story you’ve helped others like myself know that someone survived horrific things, maybe I can, too. and shouldn’t give up so easily.
