Paris Hilton may be the most skanky famous heiress of all but all over New York wander equally vapid and pointless heiress/socialites/fug models that never make the front pages.  Near the top of the socialite food chain  is Lydia Hearst heir to the William Ruandolphy Hearst empire which pulls in about $5 billion a year.  Described by Page 6 as model/socialite/handbag designer, Lydia was left ‘fuming over the inexcusable actions by Heathrow Airport security guards’.

So what did these guards do that sent Lydia in a tizzy, they roughed up her bag.  This is the message that Hearst send to her publicist:

“Aside from the fact that it is inappropriate to display the contents of a woman’s purse in public, the bag holding all of my personal belongings for my trip (panties, lip gloss, wallet and cellphone) were dumped out onto the conveyer belt.”

The damages that Lydia suffered were truly shocking: “gashes,” a “ripped-off charm,” “squashing on the bottom” and “scraped up and tangled” among the damages to her carry-on

You see this was a ’special bag’: “The Puma Lydia Bag is a sample item I designed belonging to Puma and Heatherette. It is on loan to me under the expressed understanding that it is to be used for promotional photos and interviews only.”
