Afterelton.com have an interesting item today about the perennial pink blogger (now looking quiet Smurf like after dying his hair blue).  Readers of Perez will know one of his main features last year was outting some of Hollywood’s gays, including N’Sync’s Lance Bass and Doogie Howser MD and How I Met Your Mother Star, Neil Patrick Harris.  Now the rumour mill is in a spin over Perez’s relationship with Lebanese pop sensation Mika.  Lately Perez has been posting pretty much daily about the ’sexually ambigious’ Mika, advertising his latest gigs and promoting his album, even introducing his appearence lately at an instore signing. 

Those of us who have been following Mika’s Stateside invasion have noticed that Perez has been oddly prominent at the early appearances of this particular musician. Odd, in that Hilton isn’t a music critic and doesn’t run a music site - he’s a gossip writer who has made his politics crystal clear when it comes to celebrities whose sexualities fall under public scrutiny… How interesting, then, that Hilton is now an honorary member of the PR posse of a man who flat-out refuses to discuss his sexuality publicly. Isn’t Mika exactly the kind of celeb that Perez would usually attack for his coyness? Could it be that Hilton has compromised his well-documented principles for the chance to be part of an album launch and for a place in the pocket of a pop star?
