Rose McGowan is currently starring as the  leading lady of the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez vehicle Grindhouse and is probably best known for two things, dating shock goth rocker Marilyn Manson and playing Piper (correction Paige) Halliwell in the long running Charmed series.  Page 6 report today though that she can add adultress to that list of achievements.  One of her directors in Grindhouse, Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Spy Kids, Sin City) took a shine to what Page 6 describe as, ‘the raven-haired, French-Irish minx’ and began a ‘torrid romance’ with McGowan.  Problem was, Rodriguez had a wife of 16 years, Elizabeth Avellan.  The couple have raised 5 children together and Elizabeth as been co-producer on all of his major hits including where Grindhouse where it is rumoured that  Rose and Robert started their affair. 

“It was the worst-kept secret on the set. They were going off to his trailer, having meals together,” our source said. “Rose thought some of the crew were treating her differently, and the attitude was, like, well what do you expect when you’re [bleeping] the director?”

She and Rodriguez first met at Cannes in 2005. But until now the consequences of their shenanigans weren’t fully known. When the director “fell in love with his femme-fatale star . . . he broke up his marriage of 16 years . . . The production had to shut down for a month while he recovered,” Variety reports.  “When Elizabeth found out, there was an eruption of emotions - an emotional volcano.”

Robert and Elizabeth say their separation is ‘amicable’ and they will continue to raise their children together and continue their joint partnership in their production company, Troublemaker Studios

Meanwhile Rose and Robert are keeping their relationship low key being careful not to arrive in the same limo for the Grindhouse premieres.
