So here he is, the newest member of Team Brangelina. Angie and Maddox picked Pax (3) up at 9am local time yesterday from the Tam Binh orphanage.

Originally named Pham Quang Sang, he has now been renamed by Angie as Pax Thien Jolie. Pax meaning peace in Latin, Thien meaning heaven, helpful or good in Vietnamese.

Pax at been living in the orphanage since he was abandoned as an infant, the staff at the orphanage had tried to locate his parents but to no avail.

The little boy is described as, “healthy, friendly and a little bit shy. He gets along well with other children and loves to play soccer” by sources at the orphanage.

Angie adopted Pax in her name alone as under Vietnamese law unwed couples are not allowed to adopt. As to why Brad wasn’t there, Trevor Neilson, Jolie’s adviser on international affairs states:

“Brad very much wanted to be there but is under contract working on a film in Los Angeles and as a result couldn’t go,”

Angelina has a love for Southeast Asia and has visited Vietnam twice. Also in an interview with Good Morning America in December, Angie said that she though it would be good to: “balance the races so there’s another African person in the house for Z [and] another Asian person in the house for Mad.”

All that’s left to do now is get approval from the US consular and embassy and Angie and Maddox can bring Pax back to New Orleans to meet Daddy Pitt, and his sisters Zahara and baby Shiloh
