Amy Winehouse cancelled two sold out shows in a row in England this week after going on a bender after breaking up with her chef boyfriend Alex Claire. Now her dad is saying that the soulful singer is “was burnt-out and her voice “close to collapse” . The timing couldn’t be worse for Amy as she has left for New York in order to try her hand at breaking the notoriously difficult US market. Here dad is now flying out to New York to who “to join Amy for crisis talks“

“I’m not ruling out rehab. Amy needs a break. They don’t send you to rehab just because you’ve broken up with someone. There are other things. Amy needs a rest. Her workload is absolutely manic.. She’s an emotional girl. Her schedule has caused problems with Alex. He wants to see her. I don’t know if that’s the reason for the break-up - but wouldn’t you want to see your boyfriend now and again?. Bosses are aware of the problem. Amy was upset she couldn’t do it but you can’t ring 2,000 people and say don’t come.”

Amy’s dad insists that she doesn’t have a drink problem, while that may be true, judging by recent headlines however she may have other problems besides a hectic schedule and break up with her boyfriend
