After Madonna and the PR debacle that went with her adopting little David Banda, you’d think celebrities would be more careful with complying with adoption procedures in foreign countries. However once again it looks like a celebrity has got special treatment. Angelina Jolie has, as reported, filed paperwork to adopt a Vietnamese boy. St. Angie has filed however as a single parent even though she lives with Brad who is the adoptive father of Maddox and Zahara and the biological father of baby Shiloh. Tatiana Beams an international adoption advocate states that, “This is a clear contradiction of Vietnamese law, and such situations would not be allowed for other couples. Most co-habitating couples who try to adopt as a single parent are either turned away from agencies or face difficulties”

Tatiana has previously spoken out about Angie’s questionable adoption record: “She [Jolie] adopted Maddox under a questionable agency, where the directors went to prison. It would be nice to see her speak out on issues and policies surrounding international adoption”

Either way this is difficult, getting adopted by the Jolie-Pitts is like winning the lottery but the least Angelina could do is go about the paperwork procedures correctly, especially if doing otherwise results in other couples having more difficulty in adopting.
