March 19 marks the debut of perhaps the strangest reality TV show yet. SkyTravel is to aware, ‘Killing Brigitte Nielsen’. The premises for the show is that 6 unsuspecting British tourists are to be arrested as a set for the murder of Brigitte Neilsen.

Digital Spy report:

“Producers recruited contestants by placing an advert in a magazine which invited members of the public to take part in a Greek sailing documentary. They were in fact being set up for the show, titled Killing Brigitte Nielsen. The six participants were joined by four actors on the boat, which had been filled with hidden cameras. The drama started when the boat “crashed” into a yacht being used by Brigitte. Contestants then watched in horror as they saw drug traffickers storm the boat and “kill” the actress. Actors dressed as Greek police then took the participants off to jail, where they were interrogated for seven hours.

“It is based on managing someone’s entire reality - like The Truman Show movie,” producer Alki David explained. “We never made anybody feel they were in any personal danger.

“We played back the contestants’ audition tapes to psychologists to ensure they wouldn’t crack. And the jail cells were always unlocked.”

Not surprisingly one of the participants has already threatened legal action against the show’s producers. This has to be most vile and absurd concept for a Reality Tv show since, There’s Something About Miriam, which was also aired by Sky in 2005.  It feature 6 men vying for Miriam to choose them for prize money.  The twist was that Miriam was a pre-op transsexual and the male contestants later recieved a cash settlement of £300,000 each after suing the producers

Any ideas as to if/when this will air?

As for it being ‘vile’ i couldnt agree more. Welcome to western civilisation.

However, any mug who puts themselves up for some reality bullshit TV show (or ’sailing documentary’ )deserves what they get.

    You want your 15 minutes….??

YOU GOT ‘EM!!! ( plus a healthy legal settlement)
