Denzel Washington was recently voted as the nation’s favorite star. According to Harris’ poll #4, the two-time Academy-Award Winner dethroned Tom Hanks who has been on the top of that heap for the past two years.
            Here’s how it goes for 2006:

·        Denzel Washington (moves up one spot)
·        Tom Hanks  (drops down to second place)
·        John Wayne (although who passed away in 1979, is still a favorite among the mature aged group ’61 and over’)
·        Clint Eastwood (the favorite among men)
·        Will Smith (ties for fifth place)
·        Julia Roberts (ties for fifth place and the only female on the list)
·        Johnny Depp (drops five spots)
·        Mel Gibson (still holds to the #7 spot)
·        George Clooney (drops from one spot)
·        Harrison Ford (drops from #3 to #10)
 
The Harris poll is conducted online and is held between December12-18. Approximately 1,147 American adults from various backgrounds participated in the survey.
