According to the police, actress Nicole Kidman and eight people where injured on the set of Warner’s Brother’s ‘Invasion’, after the Jaguar she was driving crashed in to a pole early Thursday morning.
Kidman, 39, along with eight others were taken to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. Two hours after her arrival, she was released. Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim, told The Los Angeles Times.
“I think she’s OK.” Olim said, making it unclear if Kidman continued shooting on the movie or she went home.
The Jaguar was being towed by a camera rig around 45 mph and hit the pole as the car made a turn. Both Kidman and a young boy who was riding with the actress wore seat belts. The young boy is also a stunt person.
Among the people who were also taken to the hospital were some stuntmen and cameramen. Like Kidman, they were examined and released.
“The stunt driver apparently went off course and hit a light post about 1 a.m.” said Officer Karen Smith.
The Oscar-winning actress stars in this vehicle as a psychiatrist in Washington. When the accident occurred, Kidman’s character was trying to escape from zombie like aliens that is reminiscent of “The Body Snatchers”. The film is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel.
In a statement, Warner’s Bros. spokeswomen, Jan Craft, said that more details of Kidman’s situation will be released later.
