Entertainment Tonight’s host, Mary Hart, recently interviewed Dionne Warwick. Warwick is celebrating her 45th year in the music scene.
Ms Warwick also talks about her famous cousin, Whitney Houston. In the past decade, Houston received more press for her turbulent relationship with Bobby Brown and her stint in rehab than for being one the most celebrated recording artists of all time.
“Of course, she’s family, but it’s life, isn’t it?” Dionne says earnestly. “You have your ups and down. Some have bigger ups and some have bigger downs.”
“But anyone can rebound. As long as they have the desire to do so.” She adds. “What we have to do is start encouraging her (Houston) to look at how she is and never forgetting who she is.”
Dionne also discusses her mishap with the law six years earlier. Warwick was detained by airport security when they found marijuana in a lipstick tube that was her in bag.
“I don’t know what happened.” Dionne says. “Somebody dropped it in my bag.”
The 65 year-old singer was never charged.
“There was no handcuffs, no finger prints, or no mug shots.” Dionne concludes. “I was detained.”
Warwick is a Grammy ® Award winner who is best known for Burt Bacharach’s songs ‘Walk On By’, ‘Do You know The Way To San Jose’ and ‘I Say A Little Prayer For You’.

Have to love Dionne’s song Heartbreaker, I know it above the so called well known hits listed here. Petty Houston could not follow Dionnes example. Who cares if she smoke a bit of weed, big **** deal.
