There was probably a sigh of relief for Hilary Duff and her crew when a teenager was sentenced to 117 days in jail on Friday after pleading no contest for stalking the singer-actress. Duff is best known for starring in Disney’s long-running TV series, Lizzy McGuire.
This drama started on October 12 when Duff, her family and her boyfriend, Joel Mden, filed for a restraining order after 18 year-old Maksim Miakovksy, a Russian immigrant, stalked her.
In November 2006, a private investigator from the Sunset Protective Service (a private security firm) stated that he contacted Miakovksy who revealed his intention of killing Duff at The Residence Inn where she was scheduled to attend.
The Residence Inn is located in Manhattan Beach, CA.
Miakovksy is currently being held on $200,000 bail.
