         On Friday, December 23, 2006, Michael Jackson and his production company, MJJ Productions, Inc. filed a lawsuit against his former accountants for misappropriating $2.5 million dollars (US) from his bank accounts, making unauthorized deals that cost The King of Pop millions. Jackson and MJJ Productions, Inc. allege negligence and breach of fiduciary duty, while seeking unspecified damages and an audit of payment he made to the company.  The lawsuit was filed at Los Angeles Superior Court.
            Jackson hired The Los Angeles-based firm, Bernstein, Fox, Whitman, Goldman and Sloan in 2003 for bookkeeping, opening bank accounts, filing personal, corporate, and real estate taxes. The firm also is accused of withdrawing $2.5 million US dollars from his bank accounts, failing to properly pay his bills. Bernstein, Fox, Whitman, Goldman and Sloan also did not keep Jackson inform him of his financial affairs.
On August 7, 2006, Michael Spoke people, RAYMONE BAIN, revealed in a statement in August 2006, that she believe that his business associates and advisers had defrauded Jackson.
            “Mr. Jackson is neither shocked or surprised by these revelations. He has been suspicious that those whom he entrusted, acted on his behalf, and advised him with respect to his personal and business affairs, may not have been in his best interest.” Bain said.
            After the statement was released, Mr. Jackson dissolved his business relationship with the firm.
