Rap star Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Broadus) has handed himself over the authorities, in relation a warrant issued for his arrest, for the possession of a deadly weapon. The charges brought against him relate to a telescopic baton he attempted to carry aboard an airplane at Orange County John Wayne Airport on September 27.
On the date security officers noted a long metal object (which could extend from 8 to 20 inches) in his laptop case while he attempted to board the flight. Snoop as said that he was not aware that it was illegal to take it on a plane. Either that or he though he could get away with it, if he is convicted on the OC charge of felony possession of a deadly weapon, Snoop would face up to three years inside.
E! News reports that Snoop “was booked on the charge (including fingerprinting and the requisite mug shot) and released on $150,000 bail, according to Susan Schroeder of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.”
His agent Meredith O’Sullivan, issued a statement saying Snoop "welcomes an expedited trial which will reveal that these charges are completely unwarranted."
